“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious.
If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door.
If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
About me
Hi, my name is Hannah.
I am an integrative counsellor and coach, based online and in North/Central London. My approach to my therapeutic work is flexible and trauma-informed. With the aim to create a safe and welcoming space in the therapy room, where the pace of sessions can be completely guided by you.
People seek counselling for many different reasons, whether this is navigating life after loss or life change, struggles with depression or anxiety, wanting to learn more about your thinking or behavioural styles, or a million other reasons. Finding a space that feels safe enough to explore these big things, and finding a way of working that really works for you is so important.
In my work, I begin by really listening to you and your story, working with you to understand and make sense of current and earlier life experiences, patterns, and dynamics - and how these affect and impact you. If you are wanting to use the therapy space to work on change, my practice also can include elements of solution-focused therapy or coaching. I really aim to be both compassionate and practical, supporting you to gain insight while also working towards meaningful change if that is what you are looking for.
I have experience working with stigmatised topics such as bereavement by suicide, surviving sexual abuse, and navigating complex family dynamics. From this experience, the topics that often arise for people include attachment and attachment styles, understanding life after loss, symptoms of PTSD and cPTSD, and questions about identity.
I am really interested in the mind and body connection and so my can include elements of mindfulness and nervous system regulation, as well as psychoeducation about trauma and the body. The hope is to develop an embodied sense of confidence and a stronger sense of self. This can be helpful if you are experiencing things like dissociation, flashbacks, or are wanting to manage and reduce the effect of triggers. All things that no one should have to navigate alone. I am always happy to chat a bit more about the way that I work, or answer any questions so that you can feel as informed as possible about what to expect.
I also believe that everyone can benefit from learning more about themselves and their nervous system, regardless of past experiences!
My practice is allied with the queer and trans+ community, and is LGBTQIA+ , Kink, Sex Worker, and ENM-friendly. I love working with younger adults, but also welcome people from any and all backgrounds.

Counselling
Traditionally, this is a tool for looking at the past and at the present, at current patterns of emotions and behaviour. Counselling can help to make sense of current and earlier life experiences, patterns and dynamics - and can allow the space to explore how these affect and impact us.
Coaching
Traditionally, this is a tool for looking at the present and the future. This is a goal-oriented way to look at making meaningful change.
If Counselling looks at the why of behaviour, coaching looks at the how of behaviour change.
Organisations I have worked with
Qualifications and Continuous Professional Development.
I hold a PGCert in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling and a PGDip in Integrative Counselling and Coaching.
As a counsellor and a coach, I always want to continue learning in order to best support as many diverse people as possible. This is a (non-exhaustive) list of CPD I am completing or have completed.
In addition, I am a registered member with the BACP (Register Number: 416078) and I hold an enhanced DBS check.
